Lung cancer pre-screening tool revision
ETS organized a pivotal workshop on April 18, 2024, at Monarch Park View Hotel in Addis Ababa to revise the risk assessment tool used for lung cancer pre-screening under the Multinational Lung Cancer Diagnosis and Control Project. The goal of the revision is to enhance the tool's effectiveness in identifying high-risk individuals, facilitating early detection and intervention to reduce the burden of lung cancer in Ethiopia. The revision process began with a thorough evaluation of the tool's performance during Phase-I of the project, which ran from June 2020 to September 2023. Feedback from healthcare professionals and analysis of screening outcomes provided critical insights into necessary improvements. To ensure a comprehensive and collaborative approach, ETS brought together participants from the Ministry of Health, technical experts, AACAHB, multidisciplinary team members from TASH, researchers, delegates from project implementing partners, and health professionals who had previously utilized the screening tool. This workshop was a crucial step towards optimizing lung cancer screening and ultimately improving health outcomes in Ethiopia
